At the annual general meeting every August, delegates discuss priorities for their organization and deliberate on how the budget can reflect those priorities. The annual budget is then adopted by CFS-BC's highest decision-making body, the plenary session of the general meeting.

The budget is then implemented and overseen by the Executive Committee, a constituent body for which every member local students' union has a representative.

If necessary, member delegates may also update the budget during the semi-annual general meeting held each January.
